New windows - for real

So maybe I was just dreaming about turquoise shutters and climbing vines on my Spanish vacation home. But, I really did get new windows! I can't wait until I can replace all the windows in my house with this awesome 9-Lite Prairie style. Patience, patience.

Drywall

In "inside construction" news... drywall! I know it's an important step in the process, but oh my, is it ever dirty and dusty! To make things worse, it's been really rainy lately, so they have to crank up the heat in my house to try to get the drywall mud to dry. It's hot and gross, and I'm really glad it's going to be over soon. (Hopefully by Friday!)

Oh! See that raised section of the ceiling? That's where my kitchen is going to be.

All right, I can't deny it anymore. Break out the stretchy pants, maternity clothes here we come. As long as I'm expanding, you might as well enjoy a little documentation of the process!

My sister posted a picture along with this questionnaire every week or so during her pregnancy, and it was really fun to watch since I don't get to see her nearly as often I I'd like. (She had her baby in June, so now you can read all about her adorable little boy on her blog.)

How far along? 19 weeks.
Total weight gain/loss: 10 pounds. (Yes, the baby is only 8 oz. at this point. Shut it.)
Maternity clothes? Yes. Thank goodness for hand-me-downs from my sis and a wonderful shopping trip with my mom a few weeks ago. My one tip on maternity clothes is - JC Penney, who knew? If you get there early during most weekends, they have the clothes marked down to half price.
Stretch marks? Nope.
Sleep: Pretty good once I fall asleep, but the doctor said I can't sleep on my stomach anymore, so I'm adjusting to trying to sleep on my side. I can't quite figure out where my lower arm is supposed to go.
Best moment this week: Getting to see the baby during my ultrasound, and finding out we're having a boy!
Movement: I haven't felt any yet that I am sure about.
Food cravings: No send-my-husband-to-the-store-at-10pm kind of cravings, but I'm definitely digging the salty snacks these days.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly Button in or out? in
What I miss: Being able to have a margarita or beer with my chips and salsa!
What I am looking forward to: Being able to feel baby move.

Windows!

Our contractor called me with the BEST news this morning - our new windows and doors are finally here! That means as soon as it stops raining, they will be able to start installing the windows, which means all the subsequent steps - drywall, floors, paint, cabinets, etc. - are that much closer to being started.

The contractor keeps promising that this project will be finished by Thanksgiving... I was beginning to doubt that it would happen, but the windows arriving a tiny bit early certainly increases my optimism.

Great news on an other dreary, rainy day. Hooray!
