Josiah has now attended his second wedding in less than 8 weeks - we're getting very familiar with the back pew at church! (I really want to buy him a little tuxedo onesie to wear for these occasions.)

Fit mamas?

Once upon a time, I was a runner. Heack, I'll go as far as to say triathlete, although I'm not very good at biking or swimming. (I even ran races, see? And apparently I was too fast for the camera to catch me.)

Now I have a baby and I'm slowly but surely easing back into work. (12 hours last week, 16 hours this week.) Do any mamas out there have advice on how to fit in some exercise along with taking care of baby and work?

- First meal in a restaurant (barbeque of course!)

- First movie (a local theater did a "mommy matinee" with babies welcome. They were showing the documentary "Babies," appropriately enough)

- First baseball game (Springfield Cards v. Arkansas Travelers. He made it through the 7th inning stretch before we decided it was time to head home)

- First time sleeping through the night (although keep in mind that's technically only 5 hours , he was completely exhausted from getting passed around to a million relatives at a very loud & crowded graduation party, and it hasn't happened again)

Not too shabby for a 6 week old! Now, on to week 7...

Quilts!

Josiah has received so many gorgeous quilts, I just had to write a blog post to show them off.

It doesn't show up very well in the picture, but this one has really beautiful machine-quilting.  The non-picture squares have pictures quilted onto them that match the theme of the quilt - trains, motorcycles, etc.

Brown bear, brown bear, what do you see?  My Aunt Bev made this one.  I love the colors.

My friend Tiffany made this one.  I believe it's Heather Ross fabrics - it reminds me of the little rhyme, "snips and snails and puppy dog tails, that's what little boys are made of."

Here's the quilt I made for him.  It's from a Moda (I think?) Happy Campers jelly roll.  We're using this for a backdrop for a photo shoot for each month - I think the squares will really show off how much he's grown!

Last but not least, here is the embroidered wall hanging my mom made for Josiah's room.  Cute, huh?
