I have made quite a bit of progress since I took this picture – it is over 12 inches long now… but I slipped it off the needle and held it up to check the sizing. Bad news. It is WAY too small. Lots of people over at the SKC KAL were having gauge issues, so I figured I would beat the system and size down accordingly. This just goes to show you that even gauge swatches can be deceiving, because I actually knit the correct size once, and it looked way too big. Or maybe I just think I’m skinnier than I really am. =)
So, to make a long story short… I have cast on AGAIN for this project. I just hope it will work this time. I think one of my problems is figuring out the right amount of ease – my last wearable knit was Picovoli, which was meant to be knit about 2 inches smaller than your actual bust measurement, but I think this should actually be a little loose. Suggestions, anyone?

I think you should probably go with the measurement that is closest to your bust measurement.
did you see this post on the SKC KAL? it’s from Stefanie herself and helps out a lot!

it’s definitely supposed to fit a tad looser since it’s just a straight knit, but it’s definitely still supposed to fit you!!
.♥.
I think you should go for a bit of negative ease on this top (sort of like Picovoli) but how much is up to you. I also have seen the top with a looser fit as shown on Stefanie on the pattern page. I can tell you though that the lace will stretch a bit from side to side, if that helps.
I’m sorry that you have to start over, but you will love this top and it’ll look great under one of your business suits.
So sorry that you had to start over – I do have the same problems quite often with figuring out the right amount of ease and then ending up having to rip something that’s too small. After reading the comments you got here I read through Stephanie’s entry on the SKC KAL and it sure might help you a lot!
