The Knit-In... was Awesome!

simplyfibers_front.jpg

Woo hoo! Kudos to Carol for hosting an awesome 1st Annual Knit-In tonight at Simply Fibers, a great yarn store here in Springfield, MO. There were about 20-30 people there the whole time I was there, just knitting away. Then... drum roll please...

At 9pm she announced the special Knit-In Sale -- 30% off all yarn in the store. I am somewhat restricted budget-wise (just bought a house) but this is truly the chance of a lifetime, right? So I bought some really beautiful yarn from Mango Moon to make a Clapotis.

(It was still expensive, but it's made by a women's collective in Nepal. That's gotta be good karma, people.)

I also got a couple balls of Trekking XXL -- some really nice sock yarn from Germany. Here's a preview:

This might be a nice surprise for my Secret Pal, what do you think?

I got to meet Brianne in person! I think she's going to some knit with my knitting group this Sunday.

Yeah. I'm glad that you had fun but sorry that I had to miss it. My mom and I went in there yesterday before going to dinner and I bought some really pretty yarn and some wodden needles sz, 9, 4.5 and 10. So the group is meeting this sunday. What time?

Such a fun idea! Glad to hear it was such a blast ;) I love the recycled silk you got. Those colors are so pretty!

I'm so glad it was fun. The yarn for clapotis looks great - I can't wait to see it knit up.

Hi! Thanks for the well-wishes! I didn't get to meet Vickie...someday, though!

Looks like you had a great knit-in this weekend. I love that silk!
