MS&W Yarn Buys

This is Hand-Dyed, superwash merino! De-luxe yarn at a very nice price. I've heard other people complain about the selection at the Tess booth this year because they didn't have many yarns that were multi-colored. I guess each person has their own tastes, but I love the hand-dyed yarns that are only ever-so-slightly vareigated. This is 1500 yards of dark green/dark gray yarn, which should be just enough for a nice sweater for my husband. I still owe him a sweater after the Great Sweater Debacle of Birthday 2006. I don't think the poor guy even got a replacement gift after the sweater went horribly wrong. So, I am going to TRY AGAIN. NEVER GIVE UP. Yep, that's how my daddy raised me. =) So, if anyone has knit a nice men's sweater in worsted weight yarn, please let me know.
Here's my only other yarn purchase at the festival - some soft and colorful sock/baby superwash yarn. I have several friends who are expected babies soon, so I might use it to make a little baby sweater.

Love the yarns that followed you home!! Sorry, don't have any good guy sweater recommendations, my guy starts to break out in hives when I mention knitting him a sweater! (His grandma knit some crazy stuff!) I'm drooling over the colors of the sock/baby yarn! Great combo! : D

Congrats on the FO! It looks wonderful. In reference to the men's sweater in worsted....I half-knit a sweater for my DH (I say half-knit b/c there is still one sleeve left to go)in Lion Brand Wool-Ease (before I was a yarn snob). It was the Jesses' Flames sweater from Stitch'n'Bitch and was a pretty quick knit. What is really holding me up is the intarsia flames up the sleeves but I've seen a lot of versions that people did without the intarsia, but everything else (ie, the ribbing on the lower portion of the body, the stripe mid-chest, and the raglan sleeves) Just a suggestion for something quick and easy.

Those are definitely some lovely purchases - Tess' is where it's at. I'll admit, I wasn't wild about their colors this year because none of the solids even struck a chord with me. I think I got plenty without it :) There are some nice men's sweaters in Rowan Vintage Knits.

Beautiful yarn! I can't get to my computer so I am checking my email via public library. For some reason this comptuer won't let me respond to your email about sending out the PS April yarn. I'm glad you are 'late' in sending it out because I am dying yours today. So, I'm late too. Sorry.
Thanks for the sport weight!!!

Delicious looking yarn!
I, of course, wasn't even at the festival and I've heard all about the Tess' yarns. Let us know how you like it!
